The What is BFC?
Brookings Futbol Club (BFC) Soccer Club is a non-profit youth soccer club in the City of Brookings, South Dakota and surrounding communities. BFC is a volunteer, parent-organized and funded program.

Formed in May 2006, BFC Soccer Club teams participate in competitive tournaments requiring some travel and a higher level of commitment than recreation soccer. Teams are formed based on age and are assigned qualified coaches who have an “E” or “D” license.

What ages can play soccer with BFC?
The "age" of a soccer player is determined on August 1 of each year, and the "age" holds throughout the academic year until the next summer. The youngest players for the BFC Soccer Club are U9/U10 which stands for "Under 9/Under 10" through U19. To figure out your child’s “soccer age” refer to the Soccer Age Matrix.

Who runs the BFC Soccer Club?
BFC is a volunteer-based community organization run by its members, using an annually elected board consisting of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasure, Registrar and Team Managers. There is almost always an open position, so please feel invited to get involved! If you are interested in becoming involved as a volunteer please contact Sean Mallett or Eric Bravek. The Coaching staff consists of several part-time paid coaches who have completed either the “E” or “D” Licensure Course.

If I sign my child up, how much will s/he get to play?
The typical season runs from early May until late July. Teams usually practice two to fives times a week depending on the team and coach. Each team participates in two to four tournaments, again depending on the team and coach. Play time will vary from team to team; however, coaches make every effort to make the club soccer experience rewarding for all participants. Emphasis is placed on individual player development, education of soccer skills, and sportsmanship.
